2018 Club Events

We will be at the Guildford Lions Easter Fayre (held on Easter Monday 2nd April 2018) where we will be selling plants. All proceeds going towards club funds.

The Guildford Lions Easter Fayre was unfortunately cancelled this year due to bad weather so three committee members attended two separate boot fairs selling plants and raised in the region of £240 towards club funds.

Last year we sponsored the hanging baskets at Worplesdon Station and we are hoping to do something similar this year.

It was decided that instead of hanging baskets we would plant up troughs and pots this year. Three large troughs, four large pots and two smaller troughs were planted up on the morning of Sunday 30th May and should make the stations platform 1 a lot more colourful over the summer months.

The Club's second sponsorship was to Steps, based in Goldsworth Park, Steps gives a second chance to 14 to 16-year-olds who have been struggling in mainstream school. The Club donated tubs, plants and compost and the pupils did the rest. They have certainly brightened up the entrance to Steps and are very grateful for the support the Club has given.

SUMMER BBQ

33 club members enjoyed a BBQ hosted by club members Mel & Gill. We were treated to a great choice of food, good company topped off with beautiful weather. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. (Go to the Photo Gallery to see a few more pictures).
