More about the Gardens

Longstock Park Water Gardens

The Longstock Park Water Garden covers around six acres and was originally created by the Beddington family during the early 1900s.  The water garden became part of the Leckford Estate in 1942 (part of the John Lewis Partnership, and home of its founder, John Spedan Lewis since 1929) and since then has been nurtured and developed to become one of the finest water gardens.

More information on Longstock Park Water Gardens can be found on their Website.  A Map of the Gardens is also available.

More information on the gardens and arboretum at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens can be seen on their Website.  A Map of the Gardens is also available.

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

The renowned plantsman, Sir Harold Hillier established the gardens and arboretum in 1953 and the 180 acre site was left to the sole trusteeship of Hampshire County Council in 1977.  It is now run as a charity under the remit of horticulture, conservation, education and recreation, but Sir Harold's aim to bring together the most comprehensive and unrivalled collection of trees, shrubs and hardy plants in the UK still remains.
