GQT in Worplesdon

A touch of horticultural magic descended on Worplesdon on the evening of Tuesday 18th February with the arrival of the BBC Gardeners’ Question Time panel.

Worplesdon Garden Club and the Trustees of Worplesdon Memorial Hall were honoured to host the entertaining and supremely knowledgable Matthew Pottage, Pippa Greenwood, and Matt Biggs, with Peter Gibbs chairing questions from a capacity audience at the Worplesdon Memorial Hall.

Two recordings were made during the evening with a total of twenty questions being posed to the panel with topics ranging from improving tree health by mulching and aerating the soil, through using nematodes to control vine weevil on Heuchera, to getting Bird of Paradise plants (Strelitzia reginae) to flower.

First Recording

The first recording was broadcast on Friday 28th February (and repeated Sunday 1st March).

Please see the GQT Web site for more information, to listen to the recording, and to see the names of the plants mentioned by the panel.

Second Recording

The second recording was broadcast on Friday 27th March (and repeated Sunday 29th March).

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the recording of Gardeners' Question Time and helped to make it such an enjoyable evening. It was lovely to be able to welcome gardeners from near and far to Worplesdon and to be entertained and educated so brilliantly by the wonderful GQT panel
